Exterior Detailing in Jacksonville, FL

A wash that puts nothing back in.

Foam bath first, then microfiber and wool by hand. Almost every swirl on a car was put there at the wash — so this is where it stops.

  • From $95
  • pH-Neutral Foam Bath
  • Microfiber & Wool Only
  • Indoor Bay

What it actually is

The opposite of a tunnel wash.

A wash is not a wash. What is bonded to your paint does not come off with soap, and the way most cars get cleaned is the single biggest source of the swirls that end up needing correction.

On the paintWhat is on it, and what takes it off
What is on it
Road filmA bonded layer of traffic grime that a normal wash slides straight over
Bug and tarAcidic, and in this heat it starts etching the clear coat within days
Iron and brake dustEmbedded particles that rust in place and feel gritty to the touch
What takes it off
pH-neutral foam bathA full vehicle foam soak lifts the loose dirt before anything touches the paint
Microfiber and wool onlyContact is where swirls come from, so nothing harsher goes near a panel
Scrub-free bug removalInsect residue is dissolved off rather than rubbed off
A white Audi R8 under a foam bath, being hand washed in the Detail Geex bay

The order matters more than the products. Everything loose comes off before anything touches the paint, wheels and arches are done separately so brake dust never reaches a panel, and the car is dried rather than left to spot in the Florida sun.

Foam before contact

A pH-neutral foam bath does the first pass on its own. By the time a mitt touches the car, most of what would have scratched it is already on the floor.

Wheels done separately

Acid-free chemicals on the wheel faces, tires and wheel wells cleaned, and none of that brake dust anywhere near your paint.

Nothing slings

A water-based tire dressing that stays on the tire instead of flicking down the side of the car on the drive home.

Dried, not air-dried

A car left to dry in Florida sun water-spots. Door jambs, edges and glass are finished by hand before it leaves.

Packages

Outside only, inside only, or both.

The Quick Geex is the exterior. The Cabin Geex is the interior. The Complete Geex is both, with decontamination and a sealant on top.

Starting prices. A truck that lives outside under trees is a different job to a garaged weekend car — we quote from the actual vehicle, not a price list.

By hand or by machine

The wash is where the damage happens.

Almost every swirl mark we are later paid to polish out was put in by a brush, a dirty mitt or a single bucket.

Hand wash, indoors

Foam first, then microfiber
Foam does the first pass, so grit is gone before contact.
Microfiber and wool only, and clean media every time.
Wheels handled separately from the paint.
Dried by hand — no water spots baked on in the sun.
Takes longer and costs more than a drive-through.
vs

Brush tunnel wash

Fast, and hard on paint
Quick and cheap, which is the entire appeal.
Spinning brushes carry the last hundred cars’ grit.
Puts in the swirls that correction later removes.
Nothing bonded to the paint actually comes off.
Hard on film, coatings and trim edges.

Washing this way every time is the point. If the car is here regularly, a membership is cheaper than paying per visit.

The process

Loose first, bonded second, protected last.

Every step exists to keep grit away from the clear coat for as long as possible.

01 / Foam

A full foam bath

pH-neutral shampoo over the whole vehicle and left to dwell, so road film softens and the loose grit runs off before a mitt goes anywhere near a panel.

02 / Contact

Microfiber and wool, by hand

Two buckets, clean media, panel by panel. Wheels, tires and wheel wells are done separately with acid-free chemicals so brake dust never crosses onto the paint.

03 / Decontaminate

What soap cannot reach

Bug and tar extraction and a clay bar treatment lift what is bonded to the surface — the step that makes the difference between clean and actually clean. Included in The Complete Geex.

04 / Protect

Sealed, dressed and dried

A paint sealant with hydrophobic protection, trim dressed, tires coated, jambs and glass finished by hand. Dried indoors rather than left to spot outside.

Questions

What people ask before they book.

If yours is not here, call the shop. We would rather answer it than have you guess.

How is this different from a car wash?

A tunnel wash removes the dirt you can see and adds swirl marks while it does it. This is a foam bath, a hand wash with clean media, wheels and arches handled separately, and a dried, dressed finish. The Complete Geex also decontaminates and seals the paint.

How long does it take?

The Quick Geex is usually a couple of hours. The Complete Geex is most of a day, because decontamination and sealing are not quick steps. You get a firm time when you book.

Can you wash a car that has film or a coating on it?

Yes, and this is the right way to do it. Hand washing is what keeps film edges and coatings intact — brush washes are what damage them.

Will this get rid of my water spots?

Light ones, yes. Hard water spots that have etched into the clear coat need correction rather than washing, and we will tell you which yours are before we start.

Do you wash trucks and larger vehicles?

Yes. Pricing is higher because there is more of it, which is why the packages are quoted separately for coupes and sedans versus trucks and SUVs.

How often should the car be washed?

Every two weeks keeps most cars ahead of it in this climate. If that is the plan, a membership is two indoor washes a month and works out cheaper than booking each one.

Bring it in and see the difference in one wash.

The first one takes the longest, because it is undoing whatever the last wash did. After that it is maintenance.
