XPEL Fusion Plus Glass Coating in Jacksonville, FL

Rain leaves the windshield before the wipers reach it.

XPEL Fusion Plus is a hydrophobic coating for glass. Water beads and blows off at speed, road film stops bonding, and the wipers spend most of a Florida storm doing nothing.

  • From $199
  • Up To 2 Years
  • Three Coverage Levels
  • XPEL Fusion Plus

What it is

A coating, on the glass rather than the paint.

The same idea as a ceramic coating and a completely different product. It bonds to the glass and gives it a surface water cannot get a grip on.

Fusion Plus, on glassWhat changes, and what does not
What it changes
Rain behaves differentlyBeads and blows off above about 40 mph without the wipers
Night glare dropsA smooth surface scatters less light back at you
Cleaning gets easierBugs, road film and sap release instead of bonding on
Spotting stops etchingMinerals sit on the coating rather than eating into glass
What it will not do
Fix existing etchingIt seals over damage rather than removing it — restore first
Replace wipersTorn blades still smear. The coating makes that more obvious, not less
Last foreverUp to two years with proper maintenance, then it is reapplied

The one thing worth being clear about: a coating goes on top of whatever is already there. On clear glass that is a genuinely good upgrade. On etched glass it is money spent sealing the etching in, which is why we look at the glass before we book it.

Industry-leading hydrophobic layer

Water repellency, dirt and grime resistance, and beading strong enough that above about 40 mph the windshield clears itself.

Better visibility in bad weather

Enhanced clarity during rain and adverse conditions, which is exactly when a Florida afternoon stops being a cosmetic question.

Resistant to what caused the problem

Water spots, mineral deposits and contaminants stop bonding to the surface, so the next sprinkler cycle rinses off instead of etching.

Certified application, documented

Applied by Detail Geex technicians with digital before-and-after photo documentation included on every job.

Pricing

Three coverage levels, priced by vehicle.

How much glass you cover is your call. The windshield is where nearly all of the benefit is, and it is where most people start.

Small SUV$239$359$479
Midsize SUV$259$389$519
Large SUV$279$419$559
2 Door Truck$259$389$519
4 Door Truck$279$419$559
Exotic / Luxury$279$399$499

Every level includes professional surface preparation and decontamination, multi-step cleaning and polishing of the glass, application of XPEL Fusion Plus, certified installation by Detail Geex technicians, and digital before-and-after photo documentation. Protection lasts up to two years with proper maintenance. Windshield only is the windshield. Windshield + front adds the front side windows and the door mirrors. All windows is every pane on the vehicle.

Two things move the time, and occasionally the price: larger vehicles have more surface area and more complexity, and a neglected or heavily soiled vehicle needs additional prep and correction before anything can be applied.

Coating or restoration

Which one you need depends on the glass.

They are not alternatives — they are two halves of the same job, and the order matters.

Glass Coating

For glass that is still clear
Stops new spotting bonding to the surface.
Up to two years with proper maintenance.
Rain clears itself above about 40 mph.
From $199, windshield only.
Does nothing about etching that is already there.
vs

Glass Restoration

For glass that is already marked
Removes etching that will not wash off.
Three levels from light spotting to severe.
From $99 for a single-stage polish.
Bare glass will spot again without protection.
Takes longer — it is polishing, not application.

If the glass is already spotted, restore it first. Coating over etching seals the damage under a two-year product. Ten minutes with a light tells us which side of that line a windshield is on.

How it goes on

The prep is most of the job.

A coating is only ever as good as the surface underneath it, and glass shows a bad prep more obviously than paint does.

01 / Inspection

Clear glass, or etched glass

Under a light, with something behind it. This decides whether the car is getting a coating today or a restoration first, and it takes about ten minutes.

02 / Decontamination

Everything bonded comes off

Professional surface preparation and decontamination. Anything left on the glass is about to be sealed under a product designed to last two years.

03 / Polish

A surface the coating can bond to

Multi-step cleaning and polishing of the glass surfaces. This is what makes the difference between a coating that lasts two years and one that sheds in four months.

04 / Apply and cure

Then left alone

XPEL Fusion Plus applied by certified technicians and left to cure indoors. You get the before-and-after documentation and the aftercare in writing at pickup.

Questions

What people ask about glass coating.

If yours is not here, call the shop on 904-574-4339.

Is this the same as the ceramic coating on my paint?

Same family, different product, different surface. Glass and clear coat are chemically nothing alike, so a paint coating on glass performs badly and does not last. Fusion Plus for glass is formulated for it.

Does it actually work, or is it a wax with a better name?

The test is easy and you can do it yourself: above about forty miles an hour, rain leaves a coated windshield without the wipers running. That is not a claim you can fake — you will know within one storm whether it worked.

Just the windshield, or all the glass?

The windshield is where nearly all of the benefit is, and it is what most people book. All windows is worth it if you want the same easy cleaning everywhere, but nobody is driving fast enough backwards for the rear glass to self-clear.

How long does it last, really?

Up to two years with proper maintenance, which is XPEL’s figure and matches what we see. Maintenance mostly means not attacking it with abrasive cleaners or a blade scraper. Wiper blades are fine; grit dragged under a wiper blade is not.

My windshield already has spots. Should I coat it?

Not yet, and this is the one thing worth getting right. Coating over etching seals the damage under a two-year product. Restore the glass first, then coat it — that way you are protecting clear glass rather than preserving spotted glass.

Will it damage my wipers or my rain sensor?

No. It is a thin, hard, transparent layer, and rain sensors read through it without trouble. What people do notice is that worn blades chatter more on a very slick surface — the coating did not cause that, it just stopped the friction hiding it.
