Sprinkler water and hard water dry on a windshield and leave minerals behind. Left long enough they etch. At that point washing does nothing, because there is nothing left to wash off — the surface itself has been eaten into.
What it is
Glass is harder than paint but it is not immune. Minerals sit on the surface, bake in the sun and etch a pit into it. Restoration machine-polishes that surface back down until the pits are gone.
People try washing it, then claying it, then buying a stronger cleaner. None of that works, because the deposit is not sitting on top any more — it has eaten into the surface. The only thing that removes an etch is taking the surface down past it, which is polishing.
Florida groundwater is mineral-heavy. Overspray dries in the sun, the water leaves and the minerals do not. A few cycles of that is all it takes.
Etched glass scatters light. At night, in rain, against oncoming headlights, that scatter is glare — and it is worst exactly when you need to see.
Light spotting is a single-stage job. Severe etching needs multi-stage work and sometimes wet sanding. We quote from the glass, not from a menu.
Bare glass will spot again. Most cars that come in for restoration leave with a coating on top, so the next lot rinses off.
Pricing
Bigger vehicles have more glass and more of it is awkward, so the price follows the car. Every level below covers all windows and the windshield.

Level 1 — Basic. Light to moderate spotting. Single-stage polish, hand finished, exterior glass only, then cleaned and given a water repellent. Level 2 — Advanced. Moderate to heavy etching and mineral deposits. Multi-stage polishing with professional compounds, inside and out, then a premium hydrophobic coating and a glass sealant. Level 3 — Complete Rejuvenation. Severe etching, acid rain damage and deep mineral buildup. Multi-step polishing and buffing with wet sanding where it is needed, inside and out including the sunroof, then an advanced glass coating and a final inspection. Built for luxury, exotic and show vehicles.
Which level a car needs is decided by looking at the glass, not by the badge. If you book Level 2 and it only needs Level 1, we will say so and charge the lower one.
Restoration or coating
One removes damage that is already there. The other stops the next lot arriving. Most cars want both, in that order.
Doing both is the normal order. Restore the glass, then coat it, and the work you have just paid for stays done rather than starting again with the next sprinkler cycle.

Photographed on one truck in the studio, under the same light bar. The haze on the left is not dirt — it has been washed. It is etching.
EtchedRestored
Both frames are the same vehicle, the same panel and the same light. The car had already been washed before the first one was taken — which is the point. Nothing on that glass was going to come off with soap.
How it is done
It takes more to correct than paint and it is far less forgiving of a rushed job. Everything below happens indoors, under controlled lighting.
Etching, deposit and delamination look similar through a windscreen and need completely different answers. This is the step that decides the level, and it is why we quote from the glass rather than the booking.
Wash, then chemical and mechanical decontamination of the glass. Polishing over bonded grit drags it across the surface, which is how you turn a spotting problem into a scratching problem.
The pane is taken down past the etch with glass-specific compounds and pads. Level 3 adds wet sanding where the damage is deep enough to need it, then works back up through the grades.
Cleaned, given a repellent or a coating depending on level, then inspected from the driver seat with a light behind it — which is the only view that matters.
Questions
If yours is not here, call the shop on 904-574-4339.
Because it is not on the glass any more. A water spot starts as a mineral deposit sitting on the surface, and at that stage a proper cleaner removes it. Left in the sun it etches a pit into the surface. After that there is nothing left to scrub off — you are looking at a hole, and the only fix is polishing the surface down to meet it.
No. Cleaning removes what is sitting on the glass. This is machine polishing with abrasive compounds that remove a layer of the glass itself. It is the same principle as paint correction, and it is just as permanent.
No, and nobody should tell you otherwise. Chips and cracks are structural and they belong with a glass repair shop. We will point you at one rather than take the booking.
Mostly you do not, and that is fine. Book what looks right and we will look at the glass before starting. If it needs less than you booked we charge the lower level. If it needs more, we will tell you what and why before touching it.
It will if nothing changes. Restoration removes today’s damage; the sprinklers are still there tomorrow. That is the argument for a glass coating on top — it does not stop water landing, it stops the minerals bonding.
On Level 2 and Level 3, yes — both include interior glass. Interior haze is usually off-gassing from the dash rather than mineral deposit, so it responds to different work, and it is often the reason a windscreen glares at night when the outside looks clean.
